Where to
Begin...
Beginner:
We focus on detailed instruction in the techniques of aligning the body
as a way of entering into experience. The results are released tension,
greater mindful awareness, and inner peace and tranquility. This class
is good for first-time students as well as those with some experience
or who are returning to yoga after many years. Continuing with detailed
instruction, we begin to explore the subtler, more internal stages of
the practice.
Gentle and
Mixed-Level: For beginners and beyond (see descriptions, below). Beginners
are encouraged to explore all their class options.
All
Levels: These classes begin the early day and end our busy week. Time
to care for ourselves through the
practices. Beginners and more experienced welcome.
Monthly Meditation Series - ongoing series
- see Workshops page for details.
Teenager's Yoga: Calling ALL high school students! Feeling stressed
out by the start of the year, too much homework, worries about the future?
Relax and de-stress with us as you begin your week.
Beyond
Beginner...
Gentle: Classes with mixed ability and knowledge of yoga are guided
in gentle, rhythmic movement and breath. Here we learn to approach ourselves
with gentle, loving compassion in body and heart.
Mixed-Level: Designed to meet the needs of beginning and more experienced students alike, allowing individuals to have a deep experience by meeting ourselves where we are.
Moderate
to Advanced: We continue with more advanced postures and posture flows,
and we learn deeper practices. Classes require at least six months' experience
with postures, pranayama, and meditation.
Yoga and
Meditation
w/ Brahmani
(Moderate & All Levels): Meditation is the primary practice in yoga. In
these classes you will receive clear instruction and guidance in your
meditation practice that can be carried into your asana practice. These
classes are an invitation to dive into the practices of sitting meditation,
passive (Yin) and active Yoga, pranayama and deep reflection. Each class
will be filled with yogic practices integrated with inspirational dharma
teachings. Brahmani weaves the yogic practices and teachings together
with a Buddhist perspective, which allows us to access a deeper connection
to the wisdom of our own true nature and realize that peace is possible
right now. The contemplative teachings and practices are offered to support
their integration into daily life.
Meditation,
Yin Yoga & Pranayama
"I feel like I was on a 2 week vacation." TN "We cannot really experience
anything without being present to it. True presence requires that we be
attentive to what is happening ... here and now." Gunilla Norris This
contemplative class is a time of deep inquiry. Time to deepen our meditation
practice. In the quiet of meditation, presence simply allows everything
within it to unfold. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to our more active
yoga and lives. In the long holdings the meridian system is nourished
and prana awakened. The mindful practice continues here in the poses and
as pranayama practice is integrated it enhances the practice and its benefits.
Brahmani will give teachings while in the practice to support our living
in awareness, our true home. Please join us for this opportunity to see
what keeps us from living from our true essential nature; present in body,
open in heart and awake in mind.
